On the lip to the right of other numbers they match the vin the c11 is what is confusing

C11 means (C)=Chevrolet Motor Division...(11)=November(when the engine was installed and matched to the frame). In the early 70's some engines will have the "install date" and others wont.Later on Chevrolet decided to scrap the idea of the install date and just went with the vin number.
