Here is the bogus ad. I know there are a lot of foreign guys on this forum, hopefully someone can help.

Thanks.

well i checked out the link you posted, but it is in a language i cannot read,if he is scamming i hope you can put a stop to it,i really don't know what else to say,but BUST HIS BUTT and i hope it works out

It's polish as far as I can tell.

I do not remember if it was on CF or DC but there were a few polish guys restoring a late C3.... maybe they're still around and read this on one of these forums....

So what's the scam ? These people took the photo and the description and put the car up for sale, obviously they don't have the car... what are they after ?? A deposit maybe ??

I'd think the car is safe on the other side of the planet :bounce:

I know the owner of the car. He was the one who found the ad and is obviously not selling it. I can only assume they guy is trying to get a deposit or something similar. He has other cars which appear to be from the US listed on his site.

The guy put a phone number in the ad. Ideally we could find someone who speaks polish to give him a call, mess with him a little, and try to get some more information to catch the guy.

If somebody knows anybody in law enforcement that can look into it they could at least get the ad pulled. The owner of the car could provide the proof.
I've been nailed by identity theft twice. It just happened at a Subway. I was out of cash and used a credit/debit card and i was alerted by my bank because of a prior theft.
The time before all they needed was the numbers off my check for a porn site because they'll take any kind of payment.
Were going to start using cash mostly and have auto payment for most of my bills and deposits.
These scammers/spammers are getting very sophisticated.
If you have to use a card watch it every second because it only takes seconds to scan your card or copy the numbers.
Watch all your statements closely because you only have a short time to dispute a withdrawal.
I hope this helps somebody.
