I think that they truly believe that with all the money that they have made, the problems they cause will never catch up with them!:cussing:

This is so stupid, sign a petition, boycott gas for a day. What a joke.

Yeah sign the petition, then go fill your tank up. Or boycott gas for a day, then fill up the next day. Like they really give a flying f*ck about what you think. If you want to let them know that you're pissed, go buy an electric car. Or convert your car to natural gas. :smash:

E85 isn't the answer either, it's the cause for more problems (incresing food prices)

i'd rather pay more for food than get hijacked by arabs.

i agree E85 is not the only answer. We're going to have to cut way back and start driving little shit boxes like you europeans.

we need to go back to nuclear power. Electric based vehicles, Natural gas powered vehicles, propane ect.

Pres Bush had the chance years ago to sign laws mandating higher mileage vehicles but vetoed. We have to develop some sort of energy policy.

Hybrids. The best of both world's.

Photovoltaic for general use is on the verge of being available to everyone.

Going cross country a few months ago, wind turbines are sprouting up like trees.

nuclear power, that's the answer. Burning oil for electricity is stoopid.

The Germans have wind turbnines and solar cells on roof tops everywhere, it's not near enough to make a dent in energy consumption

Nuclear plant building and maintenence costs are astronomical. The utilities hate them.

Photovoltaic is virtually maint. free. It also has the advantage of peak output during peak demand.

The US has a 1,000 year supply of coal. It's going to remain a mainstay.(Unfortunately)

Bird the costs are astronomical and utilities hate them beccause the U.S. govt overregulates them. France and Japan have a lot of success. We could too. The public needs to understand they are safe.

Solar cells are pretty much a toy. They may help a little.

The problem with nukes is the "not in my back yard" mentality. Hard to argue. Waste STILL has no solution/agreement.

Photovoltaic places the source at the point of usage. No grid requirements.

Energy effeciancy is key. There is a house in Colo built by an Arch. couple. 12" walls with R-60 rating, passive/active solar heating. Computer controlled blinds, windows, vanes, venting, etc. Their utility bill is $6.00 amonth for 4,000 sq'. THERE's the answer right there. Intelligent building design. Reduced demand. Living/building smart. We use too much energy per person.

DAMN right, and I DO STILL beleive the mantra of nuclear power being 'too cheep to meter'......just get the damn crybaby lawyers outta the way.....

I would LOVE to see just how and who has profited the most off all these lawsuits and crap over these phoney enviro issues over the years....someone GOTTA be getting WELL PAID off each and every one of them.....and WE pay the tab, no bullshit about it either.....

think any investigative reporter to uncover THAT story?? HELL NO, they'd be shot for it.....

:bomb:

Again the Eleventh hour, and there is still no true solutions to stave off energy consumption . Backed into the corner and now we are going to suffer! Pointing fingers and Washington is normal, Screwed by self serving laws ""EPA"" has destroyed the mother of invention, thus meaning our Washington self serving paper hangers will go to any means to stiffle progress!

Yes , Fu@@ed by the greed of the stock market!

Yeh, this time round it's the 'futures traitors''.......

bet ME, this runup is orchestrated by a bunch of uber liberal commie bastard types like George Soros and backed by some like minded buddies of his, to influence this election to the commie/do mo crats......

course I"m pissed at BOTH parties.....the pubs never did have the guts to pull NO punches with the dems on blocking any good legislation....so for being totally gutless, they get hammered, and now maybe hammered again badly on account of these traitor dealings by guys with Soros....

honestly, Soros needs killing...sniper, one shot.....send a message to those crooked bastards.....

I saw a little news thing about people in San Diego hopping the border to buy gas-- $2.54/gallon in Mexico. I figure it'll take about a month for the Feds to get that stopped- no highway use taxes. They already put dye in diesel for "off-road" use- won't be long until they dye gas too. As soon as some clown figures out that they're missing all those use taxes it'll get done.

If the DC crowd could get a handle on how to tax whale poo they would.

Chevy is going to start producing the Volt...and it actually has decent styling.

The extended-range electric vehicle is no longer just a rumor. We have put tremendous design and engineering resources in place to make this vehicle a reality.

The Concept Chevy Volt, with its revolutionary E-Flex Propulsion System will be different than any previous electric vehicle because it will use a lithium-ion battery with a variety of range-extending onboard power sources, including gas and, in some vehicles, E85
ethanol(1) to recharge the battery while driving.

When it comes to plugging in, the Volt will be designed to use a common 110–volt household plug. For someone who drives less than 40 miles a day, Chevy Volt will use zero gasoline and produce zero emissions.(2) For longer trips, Chevy Volt's range-extending power source kicks in to recharge the lithium-ion battery pack as required. We expect a driving range of an estimated 640 miles.(3)
