I ain't skeered'. I just stay the hell out of those damn things, and it's mainly because I won't subject myself to the BS at the airports.

cool, now I can track the airplanes that go over my house :devil: maybe even send a note to the people on the airplane and tell them how rude they are for flying so low

I used to work for a Walk Through Metal Detector Co. design lab, and field service....got to do a LOT of interesting job sites....the very BEST was Nuclear power plants, the very WORST was prisons....inside with the inmates at joints like ATTICA. Walpole, LORTON, N. Mexico.... the entire NYState prison system, and into the offices up in the Albany Towers....all this in the early 80's.....
So we worked close with FAA and I still have a test standard we used for QC and lab verification....
and so, I note all the silliness going on from the inside viewpoint, as surely the shituation has only gotten worse....
and it's NOT the fault of the CIVILIZED world, for sure....

totally unrelated - but I agree, worst jobs ever are in prisons. I put stainless shower stalls in several operating max security prisons in Washington. There were 2 workers, and 4 guards. Worst was if you forgot something you couldn't do your work without in the truck. Took 2 or more hours every single time to get in, at least that long to get out. Every tool was marked, and heaven help you if it were lost. They'd lock the prison down immediately, then do a cell by cell search to find whatever it was..... which only happened once to another crew. That tool was in their truck (oops, bad initial inventory). The prisoners were PISSED at all of us the next week - was a wednesday when it happened, they wouldn't let us back until the next week because they were concerned that prisoners would take out their frustration on us (when they searched, they didn't find the tool; but found lots of contraband - which they took, prisoners blamed us)

lol.... I'm not worried about airlines; it's the balloonists that come over who give me the greatest cause of concern :hunter:

Saw Ballonists over Albequerke NMex......some years ago, wife mentioned just a few weeks ago, that she wants to take a balloon ride some day....it would be fun...We drove from Santa Fe to see the Grand Canyon....and THAT PHREAKKKKKED me OUT@!!! I could NOT get within 15' of the edge, railing or not....even my son the mountain climber laid on his tummy looking over THAT edge.....
