Side pipe inserts?

Some where there was a post where cone shaped inserts where put into the collectors.

Anyone remember?

The vortex inserts? I have them in my truck, they are quite expensive for what they really are. They don't muffle a lot, but they do take off the annoying high pitched sound.

One of the local guys installed these in his sidepipes, he says they don't make a significant difference.

I have made my own inserts that keep the temps down enough to keep from getting burned, just need to kick the sound down abit to make after-dark driving more pleasant.
Checking for first-hand experience before making my own.
