Aparently, The Government wants GM to stop producing the "Volt" and a few other cars to save money... OK.. Now the kicker.. Out of GM's lineup of vehicles, they have 20 that turn a proffit every year. The government wants them to eliminate 11 of these PROFITABLE in favor of their precious "green" vehicles. 11 out of 20 profit making cars, and they want to get rid of them?!?!?!?! I thought the idea of a business was to make money.... TURN A PROFIT?! WTF is OBAMA DOING???

It's all part of his socialist agenda. Hell, in this case I'd go as far as saying COMMUNIST.

What they will do is build cars THEY want you to buy and when you don't, and you buy FORD they then will TAX the cars YOU, the CONSUMER want you to buy until which time you can't afford them, and HAVE TO buy their POLITICALLY created cars.

It is my opinion, based on what I have seen, and what I know, that the government will start issuing permits so you can buy a pickup or SUV. They will cost in the neighborhood of $2000-5000 and you have to PROVE you need one. Welcome to change.

Free market will not dictate what you drive, politicians with agendas will.

2 years ago I wrote an article on CF PRC. It was about how the environmental nutbags were trying to ban Christmas lights. Some believed it, we all had a laugh after I said it was fake.

Guess what happened this year? FOR REAL.

Nope, some things are just so obvious on the face of them when you realize the agenda.

Why would the government force GM to drop 11 of 20 profitable lines in favor of more "green" crap no one wants to drive? The MARKET should dictate what cars I drive, not the government.

Next step, is to raise gas prices via tax code so you have to buy them.

The government will control the means of productions and dictate what vehicles you can drive one way or the other.

All part of the agenda.

Check out Agenda 21 as put forth by the UN. That is the goal.

It's a matter of national security. The government can and will dictate what kind of vehicles are sold. We just don't have the natural resources to continue to fuel all these 300+ hp behemouths.

We need to concentrate our efforts on lobbying to keep our old cars on the road.

ACtually, hybrids are more damaging to the environment than gas powered cars.

I don't accept the premise. If the natural resources aren't there the price will go up, and the MARKET will react. There is no problem a free market capitalist system can't cure.

Is this the same government that just a few years ago allowed businesses a tax credit for buying trucks and SUV`s? so anyone in business with half a brain (which is half a brain more than they have in Washington) started driving a big gas guzzling truck masquerading as an SUV...the "green" agenda will be the end of us....

I'm at a loss to see where in the Constitution that government has any authority to spend any time telling the private sector what they can and cannot use for transportation. Until we actually have an opportunity to get access to our resources, I'm not buying that argument.
