anybody think they're any good. I've tried the autozone greasable and non greasable stuff as well as the nappa greasable. The failure mode is always rusting of the needle bearings so i need a greasable.

I don't want to pay a fortune for super strong joints just need one with high carbon steel needle bearings.

Lakewood joints run $60 but i'm not sure i need that.

Don't know much about U Joint manufactureres, but if you buy U Joints from Tom's, you get Spicers. You can order them both with and without grease fittings. If that's what Toms sells for his super 10 bolt and 12 bolt rear ends, I would guess they are the best available.

A 1350 is about $25.

Moog is a name brand for a darn long time. Assuming they haven't done what several other companies have done (rebox Chinese stuff), I'd be confident using their parts.

All I use on my cars and those I build are Spicer. They are about $30 each for the 1/2 shafts and $25 for the DS. I only use solids. Even when my son blew apart the diff in his 75 the spicers were rock solid. I think they are worth it over the chain brands and others.

I bought 1350 Spicers for my driveshafts, expensive here in Sweden, 100$ each!!! Anyway, no regrets on the choise of Spicers. You can see just by looking at them that they have a quality of their own.

During disassembly of the old U joints I had to cut them with a grinder and I found the material in the old Spicers (2 units), to be much harder to cut than the two "made in USA, no name" joints.

I bought my U-joint at local offroad-specialist transmission shop, all they had was solid spicers.

While looking for a entirely different problem, I dropped the drive shaft, and noticed the cross shaft bearings were flat sided, what the name for that? Brenelling??, anyway I flipped the bearings 90f so they smooth, bolted back in and my shifter vibes were GONE......

:shocking:

Yes. Model T Fords were shipped in boxcars with the wheels off to prevent Brenelling of the wheel bearings during transit.;)

you really think rotating the caps 90 degrees was going to do it?

Not REALLY, but figgered the things set at a certain angle and rotate almost NONE, so WTF?? worth a shot, only a hour job to change them....

woopie doo, other fish to fry at the time, and so I waiting for better weather, too much H&H to get under the car till maybe October.....never bothered me some years ago, but this shit is rather bad this year....
