My old electric fan set up was unshrouded and barely adequate for this part of the country. So I upgraded to a Ford Taurus fan and full sheet metal shroud. Problem is I am very close to the sway bar even after shaving a good amount of material off the fan housing. Right now I have an 1/8"-3/16" of clearance between them. I am concerned that this isn't enough as the suspension moves. So is this enough clearance or not. If its not can I possibly shim the sway bar down 1/4" from the frame or would this effect the handling?

I don't think it will be noticeable with the stock suspension. Anyways, you can shorten the tubes on the sway bar end links to make up for the 1/4 that you lowered the sway bar.

Good thought on cutting down the swaybar link tubes! Thanks I think I will make some 1/4" spacers and give it a try.
