Early vs late C4 steering racks

Are all C4 racks interchangeable (disregarding the ratio)? I've got a spare later rack sitting on the shelf, and I'm trying to decide whether to sell it or keep it as a spare for the '84.

No, later racks are different, 90 up is differet 91+ also has a fluid cooler

It will bolt up if you change the tie rods too but why would you want to? The 84 Z51 rack is 13:1 ratio, a little under 2 turns LTL, the 90+ stuff is 15:1 and as such requires more turns. I didn't read your original post too well though, apart from ratio it will bolt up so yes it's interchangeable as far as I know.

When my friend ordered a rack for his 90 vette there were two available is what he told me. If this is true whats the ratio on the other rack & will it bolt up?

There's a 13:1 and 15:1 one as far as I know.
