Been trying to help out a young guy with his '89. He's got the engine out, rebuilding it, and he mentioned he cleaned up the flywheel with some solvent. This makes perfect sense to me for a normal one piece flywheel, but I'm unfamiliar with the construction of the dual mass flywheels. Is there any rubber type material connecting the two masses (similar to a harmonic damper) that might be affected by solvents?
Just admitting my ignorance, and wanting to know if solvent/oil is an issue with this part.
Thanks,
Mike
