C3 Mechanical to Electronic Speedometer

Hey guys - I'm finally buttoning my interior and gauges back together. I refinished all the gauges, repainted the interior bezels the correct light blue for my 68, did the electronic tach conversion, and added a ring of RGB LED strip lights to make my gauges look factory original but with a nice new modern touch. I took the speedo drive all apart to find the very common stripped first and second worm gears, so once I put everything back together I discovered it is now jumping all over the place and probably about to spin off into oblivion and snap the needle.
I'd like to do an electronic conversion like I did to my tach to keep the original gauge face and odometer operation. Does this exist? I don't want to just rebuild the mechanical gears because I'll be swapping in my T56 at some point so I would like to make that easier on myself down the road.

Thanks!
Kevin

Here's a video and some photos of what I did so far:

Looks good. I have heard of people converting the speedo to "electronic" with later (77-up?) C3 speedo parts. Not sure what is entailed there.

There is also boxes that will drive your cable but they are pretty expensive from what I remenber.

edit: I think the speedo on all C3's was cable drive. My guess is Dakota Digital might have something to convert the drive

Yeah I really don't want to do the converter thing because that would still maintain the mechanical gearset behind the speedo and that's what I ultimately want to replace since they are prone to wearing out.

I stumbled across this.. It looks promising but was really hoping to find a COTS option. I may have to try this.
