I guess the question is why you want efi. If you expect adding efi will magically double your gas mileage, you'll be disappointed. I love the look of the 3x2 carbs. The engine mounted carb pump should be about 7 psi, efi pumps run between 15psi (tbi) to 60psi (spfi), so just get the correct pump...

It looks like with the addition of crank and cam sensors, you could run all the LS stuff, cable or DBW TB. Probably could source a used truck harness, sensors, ecu for a couple hundred bucks. My used 5.3 was only $900 shipped. Not sure of improvements on a SBC without the LS cam, heads, gearing...
