The tape gives a great visual to help flesh out the design. Great idea!

Weight reduction: Running out of ideas.

With over 700lbs of weight reduction, your wonderful big-block C3 weighs as much as a big-block C3 without any engine. It's got to be exhilarating around the track! :-) I enjoy seeing the creative ways you have taken to get there.

Sorry to hear about the health scare, but you're making good progress regardless. Get well soon!

Long Overdue Progress! My Retro Airbag

Looks amazing! I will definitely go this route on my dash pad and if it comes out like a pile of slop, then I'll consider buying new pieces. Seeing what you've turned out here gives me hope that I can work into it with some practice. Great work!

That is some kind of black magic there to get 12:1 on a street BBC. You hear about them, but you assume there must be some wizardry involved. Big Red has been the inspiration for MANY and rightfully so. Craftsmanship AND wizardry ;-)

    Rotor runout

Maybe try McMaster-Carr. They have disc shims in varying thicknesses, you would just need to punch a hole in the center for the stud.

Looks great! Lot's of moving parts in there but it looks like you're on the right path. Some split collars on the sway bar like you're suggesting ought to kill the side to side movement and as long as the panhard bar keeps the axle from moving side to side, you should still clear with...

I've seen the thick pad before on the floorboard of a few different vehicles. Maybe some kind of sound deadener? I always wondered what would happen to the floorboard beneath, now I know. This is really coming along well and the rust isn't too terrible compared to what Blazers and Broncos of...

That's awesome, Bob! The before and after are two amazing contrasts and the bookends to an amazing transformational journey. I thoroughly enjoyed your build and the ingenuity it took to pull it off. This forum may be a small group, but the talent chronicled here and on other member's builds...

Try taking a look at 69427's build here. He's done some amazing work lightening up his C3 and some of that includes C4 suspension components grafted in. Welcome to the group!

I'll second the chrome moly. I have a cousin that builds drag cars and you can make it super strong AND light where mild steel just can't compete. He built a full tube chassis Vega for one of his customers back in the 90s when I was helping around the shop and it was super light compared to...

These are some of the choices in have to make as I finally dig into rewiring. I read a few articles on rewiring that used the Deustch connectors years back and they look like really high quality parts. The Delphi seem to be the most common, but the Deustch are what you often find on machine...

Finally in for paint (after 18 years)

I see metallic too, that's a nice touch. I'll bet you're excited to have it back!

I've enjoyed watching his videos through lunch this week. Quite a build he's got going there, thanks for tipping us that way. He's got some pretty creative solutions in his build.

With the extra block, you open up the option of completing the new engine and controls build on the side while keeping the car 100% available for gaining more experience on the track with the car and getting everything dialed in like you want. Then later you can swap in the new engine and have...

Fantastic action shots! I bet that off camber corner really throws your guts for a loop. I'm really looking forward to seeing how your MPFI system comes out too.
