My engine has been sitting around for a while. Should I flush the water cooling channels? If so does someone have a procedure or is it just sticking a garden hose in it? Any need for additives?

Yesterday I wanted to install my water pump. While rotating it it made a horrible rattling noise. I tried to flush it but it is still there. So it is time for a new one. Is there a "useful" upgrade possible? HD, aluminium, reverse flow etc? I'm not switching to electric.

Guy´s I have a new core support and seals for my 72, only thing I did not order/get are the plastic fasteners to attach the seals to the core. These fasteners are all out of stock at the moment (Paragon, Ecklers, Willcox) and are expected earliest in December. Does anyone have a good alternative?

Yes sorry 8oz. You can cure powder coat with a heat gun! Works great, just don't get the gun to close then air stream will wrinkle the coating. That is a risk, but for stuff hidden away it works great.
