Thanks for the info guys.
I think Im going to try the Ecklers frontspoiler (PN 10291) mentioned in corvette fever magazine's article online. Im looking for more pictures with that one installed first. I dont want it to throw off the flow of the cars design. VEtte427sbc, I like the look of...
At least someone gets it!
Yes, the owner did ask us to do a few custom touches to personalize it to his taste...like glass the spoiler in, paint it a specific blue which he thought suited the car...stuff like that.
If I ever have the money, I want to build one of these. I love it!
Awesome! Great job.
All my cars are lowered with frontspoilers, yes, you will have some repair, some day, for sure. Crap, I scoop up dead squirrels, paper, all kinds of crap.
But enjoy it, I think its kewl!

I mounted up my frontspoiler today. It fits reasonably well, except where it's supposed to meet the wheel arches.
I wasn't sure if I should bolt it on and leave it at that or "glue" it on. I glued my bumper on yesterday, so it's never going anywhere but now seeing the crappy fit of the...
Welcome to the motley crew.....
All you all going to laugh, but if you look at a stock '72 shark frontspoiler, it's nothing more than a piece of black plastic about 2" wide....
me being cheep and all, I took some black garden border edging left over from wifey type projects...and so cut it...
Had a few moments to kill this afternoon and kicked around some possible aero mods for the '69. Every time I'm under the car doing stuff I'm amazed at how "rough" the underside of these things are. I know a lot of guys complain about the frontend lift (at speed) of C3s, and although I've never...
One word of caution, if you haven't jacked the front of a C-3 with a spoiler, take note. You will need to first slide your jack under the car from between the front tire and spoiler, minus the jack bar. Once the jack is under, you can place the crossbeam support on the jack cup, have it waiting...
I think we're on the same wavelength, here. That's pretty close to what I was envisioning. (I was also looking at using some sheet aluminum for the front end between the spoiler and the A-arm crossmember to reduce a little bit of the turbulence down there.)
Reducing front air intake.
Had an hour to kill so I finally got around to starting to block off the front grills. I've had a few engines (3) in this car, and never had much of an overheating problem. Currently I'm running a 195* thermostat with a DeWitt radiator, and no issues. My main focus...
The front of my car is highly modified, I've removed the vacuum canister and the crash bar form the front end and fabbed a new core support that would not interfere with air flow to support the radiator.
I have a 80 model front bumper and have opened the area in the center and added thin wire...
Thanks
So far, so good. I have only messed it up on my own driveway. The pavement grabbed one of the support rods and bent it out a little. I was able to straighten it out pretty easy though.
I dont have any facts or numbers to prove that it added downforce/reduced lift, but it didnt...
Just looking for some opinions on my new frontspoiler. Does something this low really hurt high speed stability? It did lower my radiator temp by 20* (didnt have any type of lip or spoiler on it previously) so I'm thinking that its really bringing alot of air up under the nose. But is that...
I agree with your sentiments. I haven't had an issue cooling my engine, and have scrounged up some plastic material to (completely) block off the headlight grille areas to reduce the air into the pre-radiator area.
I've kicked around for quite a while plumbing up a manometer to measure the...
With all of the mods people do to increase airflow to the radiator area, I think you can pass the point of increasing performance, and begin to force too much air to the radiator and under the hood which begins to create lift. I would think you want the LEAST amount of air that the car can...
I was planning on eventually blocking off the lower valance and moving the spoiler forward. I would also then start to limit the air that comes through the front until it starts running hot, then I know how much air I need.
I've been pondering with the 91 up front bumper swap and to me the 84-90 just looks much better. I'm not really a big fan of the wrap around style marker lights for one.
I might actually just look into a fiberglass rear 91-up style rear bumper or mod my stock front bumper to look like wider...
9AM .... I thought what a great Saturday morning it is: sunny and not a single cloud in the sky... perfect day to take the '79 out :yahoo:
Got a coffee (Marck, my stainless steel cupholders are awesome) ... drove a few miles to get out of the city and get the engine and oil warm. Engine...
I got tired of getting my body color Pace Car frontspoiler painted almost annually, twice this year. I decided to add a splitter to protect the paint and maybe add some performance. I started with 1/4" plywood and came up with this. If this works good, I can use this as a pattern and cut one...
