1963 Corvette Grand Sport Build! LS2/T56-LOTS OF PICS!

Tape popped up on the stripes so they were screwed..Oh and passenger side fender had a big spot where a moth flew into it..the car wasn’t “flashed” very well..if you looked up from the bottom there was little to no paint on the louvers/around the tail lights..front bumper etc.. live and learn...

    mounting side louvers

...the fender vents behind the wheel (between wheel and door) ?? Isn't there a cover under the fender (behind the wheel) that you can remove? I'm pretty sure after removing that piece you can get your hand in there and access the area behind the fender louvers, at least that's how it is on my '79...

    bonding adhesive

A filler is the way i finally repaired the whole ****. But a word of warning : just a light skim coat of filler won't stop it. You need at least 3-4 mm to keep it down.

    bonding adhesive

Didn't read the final paragraph. : it only shows when you look at it from the right angle and when the surface is shiny as in a topcoated surface. I'm not fantasizing on this. The problems I had were very real.

    mounting side louvers

Those 4 chrome louvers on 1969 mount with Wellnuts i.e. speciaized rubber nuts and they slide in the holes in the fiberglass from the outside. If you mounted them from the inside of the fender they would not even work. Wellnut are made for blind areas like the first louver depression next to the...

front flares and grilles - louvers -- project finally started

I finally started on my front flare installation. Here are the flares as I received them from Vanacor, these are the 1.5" wide L88 flares for the front to match the 2" wide flares on the rear.... no more mudflap... :waxer: These are photos of todays first "test fitting" after I cut the stock...

She's nice looking man! Congrats on having that cool of a woman. Is your car a 82? I looked at your pictures and looked like it had CFI emblems on the fenders. Did you finish the fender louver install? I should just put the 90 in the garage and finish my 82.

Yeah, she's pretty cool and she humours me with the Vette photo's. My car is an 82 and yes, apart from the final colour, I've finished the fender louver mod. I know the purists will put a bounty on my head but after final colour goes on, Stingray emblems will be going on the fenders. You...

Hot in Cab, Dang Hot, Help

Thanks for the info. When we had friend's 72 on rack did notice he had those metal shields about where your feet would go. His 454 big block runs much cooler than my little 350 in the cab. Maybe that is the best trick? If there was some way to move the air on across the top of the engine bay...

    My 76

Here is the result of my adding 67 side fender louvers to my 76 Other mods include 2000 LS1 engine, 78 Pacecar spoiler, 80 side mirrors, 80 t/t steering column, 80 seats, rear monoleaf spring. heavier front springs and swaybar, rack and pinion steering, and I am waiting on my 18" wheels and tires.

I like the fender mod you did, the stock 82 vents look well cheap LOL. I'm going to try and do it on my car as well. You should try grafting a long style L-88 scoop onto your hood like I am doing. Theres one for sale on CF. The 84 cfi air cleaner looks a hell of alot nicer an a 82 as well...

I modded the fenders for the same reason - I though the original ones looked like a bit of an afterthought. Like shipping a windshield, a hood would cost an arm and a leg to ship out here. Besides, I like my little hood scoop mod

    Fender Louver info post...

I've seen a few times where people ask how they can restore the chrome edges on their egg crate side louvers. I didn't know it myself until I stripped the paint off mine, but they whole louver is chromed. If your chrome edges were scratched or whatever, no reason you couldn't strip the paint...

Hole dimensions for 72 Stingray script

Hmmm... maybe time for John's idea. Can someone post a nice closeup pic of a left and right fender with the script and louver in view please?

    Front Fender mod

Thanks for the compliments guys but it's a long way from finished yet and there's ample time to turn it to ****! Discovered a new problem today - a minor one but something I need to sort out. In the egg crate louver itself, there's two screw holes on the upper edge and a stud on the lower...

    Body work help...

They are a big critter to be in the way of. Was it deliberate or did the horse not see you? I think horses are beautiful - when viewed from behind some sort of fence! I was an avid "learner" rider years ago until I was biffed off a 17 1/2 hand mare at full gallop - OUCH! Now I really enjoy...

    Front Fender mod

Thanks for that John, just the info I needed. I started on the driver's side today and am pretty happy with the way it's gone so far... I was still a little apprehensive at this point  But got it done ok. The Fein saw makes the job pretty easy and keeps the fiberglass dust to a minimum...
