rebuilding a diff here are the parts

yes, Summit sells the Eaton clutches and they price match ..... Rockauto has the Timken bearings at a good price. The Ratech spacer is too long, for the most part I have to shave a few thou off to make the shims work. The Elite brand spacer from Ron's Machine Shop is better but cost about...

rebuilding a diff here are the parts

I received some feedback, questions about parts to use for a differential rebuild and figured I share all the part numbers here in this forum. I think the attached shows all part numbers for the solid Eaton clutch kit, bearings, seals, ARP ring gear bolts, solid pinion spacer. Cover gasket is...

Trailing arm Tapered wheel bearing setup

Old thread but still relevant topic. Yes, two opposed tapered roller bearings can be setup at 15lbs/inch drag - this is how it is done on a C3 pinion. It loosens up. That is normal. On the wheel bearings I used to go with the .002" and noticed that you can feel that rocking when you grab...

    C8 ZR1 1064 Horsepower

I now have 1700 miles on my Z06. Still have to do the first oil change, have not taken it past 5500 rpm yet, redline is 8600...... this thing is scary fast. I have always owned high HP cars but this one at 670hp is in the "holy crap" category. The ZR1 is about $70K more than the Z06, if you...

Trailing arm rebuild - lots of photos

I rebuilt three sets this year, on two sets I had to replace the spindles because they were slip fit, one set of spindles was good so I used them... slip fit is a controversal topic, on my own car I'd run them slip fitted but I sold two sets and wanted them to be to GM specs or better...

Trailing arm rebuild - lots of photos

Here's where it all starts: . . Poly bushings are garbage, they crumble.... . . So after disassembly and some quality time with the sandblaster we can see how awesome the GM welders got splatter everywhere.... . . . . After welding up the arm and improve GM's welds and some time with a...

    new ebay ripoff trick

I just noticed another Ebay BS today, looking at a set of tires and it says only 9 left and 612 people are watching the item.... seems rather strange that 612 people put a good priced set of crap brand mud tires on their watch list ??

C6 clutch master - popped off the firewall

It's like a pos plastic prong crap... you push it in and turn it, that's it... I'm amazed it staid in place as long as it did. I am so tired of this car sitting there almost driveable that I just placed my order for the Tick master... it's metal and threaded, uses a nut to hold it to the...
