I have beefed up my frame on my 71 vetterod project. What are the pros and cons of tying in the birdcage to stiffen the car?

I switched to Vortec heads not the A/C Compressor Bracket doesn't have enough holes in it. The other side has the same holes and I need them there. Can I drill and tap the hole I need in the end of the head for the accessory? What could I drill into? Water Jacket? Worse? -Thanks, Charlie
