Does anyone know how to disconnect a stock alarm system in a 74 coupe.
I have had this Vet for 8 years and never set off the alarm until yesterday when I put a new fuse in for the lighter and turned the key to start.
Sounds like it is working off the stock horn.

We do not have inspection here in NJ
I just want to be able to keep my car from rolling on a non flat surface.
I know I can leave it in gear but if I am working on it while running etc.
What about the adjusters that SuperBuick Guy mentioned?
Parking brake on my 74 not holding.
When I pull handle all the way up the parking brake will not hold.
Parking brake was replaced a few years ago so should be ok.
Is there a cable adjustment?

Anyone have exp removing the metal instrument cluster bezel in a 74.
I want to remove the black metal cover and paint it.
Also would like to know what is the best spray can paint to use on it.

I have been finding spots of brake fluid on my garage floor the last couple of days.
I traced the leak back to a little rubber button on the proportioning valve.
This leak probably means the valve is shot but I was wondering what the little rubber button was for?
OK here's the deal.
74 still is breaking up on both sides under load.
Starts and runs fine until I give it 3/4 pedal or more.
New plugs and wires
New HEI distributor/set timing
New fuel filter and new gas
Carb is HP 700CFM DP
Turned mixture screws in and engine died, means power valves ok

Since I am trying to finish my 74 I might as well replace the broken back wheel stud while I am at it.
Something tells me this is going to be a bear.
Hopefully you guys know an easy way to replace the stud?

My clutch petal return spring must have rusted though and fell off.
Question is, one end hooks up by the z bar but where does the other end hook up to? (a pitcute would be a big help)
Second question what size spring should I use.
