C7 Interior Upgraded Interior

There is buzz that the interior of the new Corvette will be highly upgraded. I want to share GM's $50,000,000 inspiration for the new seats.

I don't think those seats look that bad, a little porsche GT3 like. That's one thing those cars need, vastly better seats. However, I don't understand why they havent just use the Recaro Sportster CS, it's an awesome seat. Best seat I ever sat in. I have some GT3 seats lying around and they are very very small...in that I don't fit in them LOL

LOL!

Put a face on it and you have a car pool buddy.

Thank you for catching the humor. A few years back one of the stearing wheels looked like the Pillsberry dough boy.

now that I look at it lol it does look lik a puppet with the hands behind the head LOL

I don't either. We've been conditioned to think the flat seats look stylish but that doesn't support you in a hard turn or when you get out of sorts.

The latest vettes have pathetic seats for a sports car. The C4s had the most bolster of any of them.

But GM has to accomodate everybody from huge to small.

I'd like to see a seat that would have a lot of adjustment perhaps with hinged bolsters. I've never owned a proper racing seat but i think you can bend it to conform to your body.

My 90 has electrically adjustable bolters and lumbar. They are by far the best seats in any vette. The back is electrically adjustable and has lumbar too. They are like a vise.

There are several top reasons I dumped my '87 vette convertible....

ONE was the damn bolsters on the seats, all fully adjustable, optioned out, the back bladders were easy fix, but no way in hell I was NOT in PAIN after driving it for a couple hours...just flat out toooooo narrow, and I"m not a lard ass either, but I am 6'5" 225 lbs....another was the terminal weatherstripping....

But I find the seating in my modified '72 vert to be just about purrfect, so much so I can easy snooze off, that's a nervous trade off....

:clobbered::zzz:

You're talking bladders? I'd like to see a custom formable seat as the next evolution in technology.

Not just lumbar bladders, the bolsters adjust on and out

I modified the living HELL out of my seat bottom bolsters, the seat back bolsters were never an issue with ME....but that damn seat riding like a football tackle on my ass, NO way man....on the '72 I have one of them T cushions on top of the console, and it's GREAT, so I drive James Dean style, leaning to the right and left hand at 11-12 o'clock.....

course dropping the footwell forward, and moving the pedals down/forward, makes it SO much easier with my legs off the steering wheel....

:amazed:

I don't know how many have tried 5 point harnesses. When adjusted properly you should not be able to touch the radio controls. That with my C4 seats does pretty good for what moderate G force my car can generate. Allows more confidence in cornering.

Makes stock shoulder belts feel unsafe.

The 70 seats suck.....I have to wedge myself in by bracing my knees against the door and center console just to take a corner fast.
