Default Barry Grant Carburetors

"As of today, February 18, 2011 we are ceasing operations at our Dahlonega location and all subsidiary locations. Working with all of you has been the experience of a lifetime. I will value your support as friends, customers, vendors, and media contacts forever. The economic situation has put the company in the position of not being able to find working capital needed to continue operations and get a Chapter 11 reorganization plan through the court. In addition to this, is that all of our equipment has been breaking down causing production delays and further hurting cash flow. Reluctantly now we must convert to Chapter 7 liquidation after 26 years of business. The financial collapse has closed, or has caused severe restructuring of many companies in our industry. Many individuals have lost everything. We have even lost our home. This is the most humbling experience of my life, and I have no future plans at this point. Thank you for your many years of support"

That sad news. Certainly unfortunate for the families affected but also for the customers. Not a very good market to be in if you're looking for cash to survive.

Too bad. Maybe I should put the 2 BG carbs I have in a sealed box as collector items.

That is a disappointment. Sorry to hear of the loss to the carb community.

I for one now wish I hadn't delayed til now (too late) to get the inline 4 barrel. "Curses. Foiled - again!", as Snidely Whiplash would say.

Any recommendations now? 383 Stroker, 420/420 (ish) looking for a carb setup. (So much for saving up my combat pay)

Cheers - Jim

Either that or ditch them quickly before people realize that parts and warrantee service are gone.

Summit dropped them a couple of years ago. Another reason for it must be "professional products" who are copying about just anything out there

TT - is this a reference to Chinese knock-offs? Haven't seen carbs - yet. But have seen a lot of ignition copies and heads though.

Cheers - Jim

That seems to be the consensus.
