This is the 3rd time in the last 5 years I've had to buy a repair kit for the windshield washer pump on my '73. The white plastic just doesn't last under the hood, ends up brittle and breaks at the hose fittings.

I was told the white plastic kits are China made and that I needed to look for a black plastic kit. I found the black kits at some of the Corvette parts vendors for $15 to $20 although for some reason Willcox shows the price to be $56.99. http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_info.php?cPath=1975&products_id=15185 I think their website must be wrong.

Anyway, in trying not to pay the Corvette premium I did some research and found that Anco (division of Federal Mogul) makes this part in the U.S., that it fits many cars besides our Vettes, and that it is readily available from sources other than Corvette vendors.

The Anco part number is 61-06 although some sites show it as 6106. I found it on Amazon for less than $10 with free shipping. Here's a link if anyone needs it:

RockAuto carries it as well for $6.55 but I'm not sure about shipping costs.

I hope this helps.

That whole thing is a bunch of old crap, just scrap it for a 15 buck WSW pump in your local parts house....and rewire the thing off the switch.....you can leave the old shit there for appearance sake, or do what I did, and shave it, and glue a piece of plastic over the opening.....course I have a '72, last of the operating wiper doors....and kept it that way, because of the nifty/neat/cool factor....
