Internal Body Aerodynamics

Mirrors are so "Old Skool!" :amazed:

I'm a bit surprised to not see an array of cameras and a threat warning/proximity system that "calls" for you attention. Less drag too, and what the heck, when you loose power the ecu/brain quits and you stop.

Cheers - Jim

Yeah, must have been a styling choice to go "old school" and have mirrors on a hypercar.

All these mid-engine cars make me interested in the C8.

Does anyone have a pic of the sidevents cut out and replaced with just wire mesh?

Sorry if you are sick of hyper cars, but they are leading the fleet on aero.

Has anyone got photos of front canards on a c3?

The question intrigued me, so I had to scour the HDDs (over 100,000 images!) and the best I could come up with are a few C3s with what might be called "dive-splitters" or a highly modified "shovel nose."
Here are a few:

They leave little opportunity for "adjustment" but some could have canards added to the outside too. Elvira's closely approximates the grey nose in upper right, blends the splitter into the flare, and includes a vertical segment(side), like the two shown shown the left.

Thanks for looking, , a tastefully designed canard for a c3 might be a viable product for someone. Probably would be a splitter canard package. Can't think of a reason it wouldn't work.

I remember seeing a c3 in a wind tunnel with lots of aero, I'm thinking Greg Picket, with a Greenwood widebody

It was close to this with more aero additions.

Active aero on the rear wing. Braking assist maybe?

And the text that goes with the image:
Do-it-yourself aero modifications can produce excellent results. Paul Costas' record-setting tube-frame Camaro features a simple front splitter and rear wing, and the radiator air is ducted through the hood. The radiator ducting reduced under-hood pressure so much that it took a huge rear wing-angle increase to balance it.

Yeah, it's too bad we've "lost" some great info. The Wayback Machine only covers the first 2 pages. I may have some I've saved for personal review. PM if you'd like. Its not something that should be "posted."

I like the fender vents.

Yes, nice. aAd LARGE too. Better still the rear fender "treatment." Using the flying buttress to make a duct for the rear airfoil is something a few have done before. Notably Ferrari has a smaller version and certainly a few hyper-cars too.

Nice "reap."

More "flying buttress" aero....

The cutouts in the front fender flares are interesting. Definitely for aero reasons, as the water and dirt will be flying over the sides of the car.

Lots of hood ducts, must be for cooling radiators. Wing mounting also optimized.

Lol, the camera man jumps at 3:00 when they fire the car up.

Great idea until you vacuum up "who knows what." Hyper car wars are heating up.

Sort of neat. Some cooling details.
