My 1,500.00 1990 project

All motor problems have already been addressed and motor runs pretty nice now after head gaskets and surfacing the heads.

I can't find any of the actual tear down pictures of the motor but still had these head gasket pictures. This problem happened on the backside of the #7 cylinder

when I bought the car the insides of the heads still looked like brand new

After re-surfacing the heads, I can't recall how much was taken off of them but prior to this they had been put on a belt surfacer which my machine shop guy told me never leaves a good level surface. I had them properly surfaced though. The total price for the head gasket job was like 250.00 for everything and after doing this motor runs perfect again.

start of pressure test after head gasket replacement

This is after about 1 hour very minimal pressure change most probably a loose hose clamp/s

Assuming the short block and tranny are ok, the largest thing is the paint job...

the wheels/tires alone seem worth 1500 bux....easy 3-4X your money in parts alone....

Well, obviously not to be parted out, and that's the same trick I used when doing a intake mod some years ago...I sweated up a a/c fitting to some copper pipe I had in the heater core line, closed up the system, and ran the air to it through HVAC gauges...sat and watched over 6 hours....no change,

:3rd:

Must be a typo....for Two hundred twenty five bux, you got a bonnet, 2 doors, r/f covers?? some guys got ALL the luck, :suicide:

By the way this is a fully loaded 90 even had the bose cd/cassette radio but is a base suspension car.

First thing addressed was why the front bumper had such huge gaps here is the cause

You can clearly see the main skid bar was bent quite bad

I pieced this together for 165.00 bucks, NOS impact bumper & used driving lights

Here the front end is reassembled and even though not adjusted lines up pretty good considering nothing is bolted up

The a/c system was a major hassle as I tore into it. Every thread was stripped and a/c clutch wasted just really bad!

Old compressor as you know these nippondenso ones are pricey in themselves.

I really hate the C5 wheels and they make the car look stupid. Cure locate correct 1990 wheels .... 230.00 got me four very very nice ones. However these will be professionally polished out for the car.

OHHHHHHHHHH thy missing bose ...... 90's seem very hard to find ... the cure? locate a 93 and convert it to look like a 90 using doctordons faceplate and buttons cost 150 for the 93 head unit and all four bose speakers and amps and encloseures. Plus 100 for doctordons stuff and 50 for a CDM

The fans never worked on this car and the cause was never found. So I did the next best this fought to get this plug out and install a thermal sensor to ground both the fan relays .... It pulls large amounts of air like this and very rapidly cools down the engine verses just running one fan.
