Everyone sees that but it must be the blue machine with handle rail that the plasma cutter is sitting on that's his tig welder is what I'm saying. I don't know if you have a plasma cutter, but if you do yours will have an air line hooked up to it with a filter/dryer on it JUST like the one going in the back of the machine in that pic.

I know it's a tig I just wanted to know what's the model. Just curious.

I talked at length recently to my miller dealler about that TIG, they are saying its getting good feed back from those guys who are only using it for light work, like sheet metal and small aluminum parts (probably 60% of the hobby guys)

If you are wise, spend your money ONCE on quality equipment. You'll need an AC/DC inverter machine with a foot and/or thumb control. Everything else is a waste of money. 200 amps is nice, I have a 185 thermal arc machine and it's more than enough for what I use it for. It welds 1 cm thick aluminium without pre heating, it's no issue. It's also a quiet machine when in AC mode, the Hobart 300 amp machine I also have makes a ruckus when in AC mode and I never ever use it anymore. It's also a 380V machine and very heavy, the Thermal Arc is 220 and nice and small, easily carried. I DO have a fully digital automated cooling system from Rehm hooked up to it, otherwise when welding alu for a long time the torch gets scorching hot.

I dont think I'll buy one right away but I'm getting there.
I also believe in buying one time and a good machine. getting tired of having to borrow someone else's tools.

both can produce excellent results, if your doing alot of welding a MIG may be prefered, but if QUALITY is more a concern ID suggest the TIG

I can only say this, buy a name brand welder, if it ever craps out you'll be able to get spare parts for it.

As for the Thermal Arc machines, they sell those here too, but not for 2500$ it's not the shipping, tools in general are much more expensive here (quality tools)
