I remember when in the early 60s the local drag strip (Charlstown RI) was where our club was working the staging and flags. Tasca Ford dominated the super stock class then the AF/X class. To this day Tasca Ford is still drag racing A funny car and a cobra jet mustang.

A Ford dealer near where I grew up (Romy Hammes in South Bend, IN) also competed with factory lightweights for a few years.

Tasca Ford campaigned there A/FX cars all over the US, they also won the western national in Pomona I believe it was 65 or 66. They were instrumental with the development of the Thunderbolt cars, that only 100 were offered by the factory.
John Force had a close relationship with Bob Tacca senior and is close with Bob Tasca III.
"Force furthers his relationship with driver/owner Bob Tasca III, whose car-dealer grandfather convinced Force to switch from Chevrolet in 1997"
