I have done some research and it seems as if the general rule of thumb is about 85% of 14.7:1 => 12.5 AF ratio results in maximum HP. If all goes well tonight and the guy has time tomorrow I will be getting my carb tuned Friday as we switched to E10 gas recently and now I am getting some pinging with 93 octane. Last time I was on a dyno it ran a flat 13:1 AF ratio and we left it at this figure. I figure that now I am running now a little too lean which makes sense since E10 gas likes 14.1:1 ratio they say and is thicker flowing.

I am estimating that our initial AF ratio to find max HP should be around 12.0:1 with the E10 gas...does this sound correct?

Can somebody with carb tuning experience chime in that my thoughts are correct on the AF ratio that I should shoot for a 12.0:1 AF ratio or there abouts?

What I also learned is that the manufacturers program the cars to be as lean as possible to help with thier emissions and mpg stats but that a slightly richer mixture produces more power.
