Finally something different from the sea of torque thrusts!
18x9.5 front and rear, 285/35 front 285/40 rear. I havent got my spacers/adapters in yet, so this is just the mock-up. I dont think the 285's will rub up front, and if they do it will be very minimal.

BTW I think torque thrusts are a great looking wheel. But I got tired of them on my car when EVERYONE else has them. So take no offense if you are one of the millions with TT's

i like it also , you would think with all the zillion c3s out there that the wheel manufacturers would give us some choices that didnt need adapters or spacers

There are similar wheels that would fit with no spacers, but they cost a fortune!

20 years at ~20k/year is only 400k of C3's, and that's being generous....figger only 200k on the road today at MOST out of that maybe 10% is the market for aftermarket wheels....now that number WILL pick up a tad as the old NCRS type farts die off, and the hotrodders take over.....seen that with the old pre war Fords already, some 20 years ago....

even today, with increase in population, a old perfect '35 Ford rumble seat convertible....worth maybe 20% of same done as a STEEL body hotrod....:crutches:

I hope someone will come up one day with Vector/Western Turbine wheels replica in 17" or 18". There is a least a market of one (me) for that.

All things considered, I'd say there are probably more than 200K still on the road. Years ago I saw a figure that estimated that about 80% of all Corvettes built were still intact.

Yeh, sure looks that way, I underestimated by quite a bit, so the market is a bit larger, wonder who makes the majority of aftermarket wheels today, bet it's China...who else?? which is why I have C4 wheels on my car, first two reasons....price and price, third is China....

Update finally!
After almost 2 months, my custom wheel adapters are here.
They are 15/16" front and 1" rear with 2" ARP .5" studs.
I mounted the front wheel today to check the fitment. *Almost No rub with a 285/35/18 up front.

Heres my only rub... If I didnt have the rack, I would be in the clear. The tire is touching the end of the rack tube (bottom of the pic). Note how close the steering stop is. Still retaining a very close to stock turning radius.

Heres the front sway bar. Very close, but doesnt touch. This was at full lock against the steering stop.

Even at full turn and full compression, the tire does not rub the fender :yahoo:
 
What's your address again?? I may have to stop by and steal that setup....

Nope... Just a gym membership!

:yahoo: Every time the wife takes her Miata out, and goes to straighten the wheel at bottom of the driveway, Manual steering, she insists on doing it with car standing still, and so she lays into it, and all of her 130 lbs is doing the grunt and almost lifting her butt off the seat....it's funny to watch.....:flash:

Heck, I didn't even think to count the C2s. Same frame and suspension, so the same wheels would probably fit (not sure about fender depth). That's probably about another 100K or so produced.
