I'm in the process of modding a 4 speed and need to make a custom shift rod. I bought a strait one with one threaded end and the shifter hookup on the other end. These things are made of some tough metal. Any hints on bending one?????

Maybe you can ask this woman to help

This may be irrelevant, but anyhow the 68 shifter rods are different from the 69 and up rods. Actually, I think it's only one of the rods.

I was actually fitting a Muncie shifter on an 82 f body T10 (has the oddball tail shaft with torque arm). I had to make a new mounting plate and was able to reuse the reverse and 3/4 shift rods.
A little heat from an oxy/acetylene torch allowed me to bend a strait shift rod easily. Thanks all, including the inspiration from Wonder Woman:bounce:
