Just a small project Ive been working on in my free time at work...
When complete it will have keyless entry and a basic alarm too.

Instead of attaching the lock actuator to the factory rod, I welded on an extension to the lock rod pivot to give the actuator a bit more leverage. I think it looks neater as well (for all the people looking behind my door panels)

Welded some tabs on the door

I also got some power windows going in too. Those motors are heavy!... I bought some late model glass though so hopefully that will help offset the added weight.

Since my '72 is a convertible, I eliminated the ability to lock the car, inside or outside, the door locks are removed entirely....

:bump:

I never really locked my car either just because it was a pain (damn Im lazy). It will be nice in the summer when I hit the beach and I can (easily and quickly) lock my wallet, phone, etc in the car and not have to worry.

After going to all that trouble you should add express down to your power windows and use the trunk button on the keyless entry to roll them down at the push of a button.
