100 years ago......
My Uncle, gone some 30 years now, started out as a Case Inst/Tech grad from the 20's....and went to work for Ohio Bell, subsid of ATT....
digging post holes, master's degreen in EE and all....they trained the tough way....same as the guy across the street here....Bellsouth/now part of ATT again......
