How mush bigger is the I.D. of the sleeve compared to the O.D. of the ball in a Johnny Joint? Also, to compensate for wear, do you add spacers behind the snap ring?

What would the sleeve ID matter? The ball does not touch the sleeve, it rides in the 2 polyurethane cupped halves and there's chassis lube between the ball and poly. If the poly is worn you just replace the 2 pieces. The joint only has a snap ring on one side.
The 2" model does not have a zerk on the outer sleeve but you can easily drill and tap for one so you don't have to use the greasable bolt.

That's really what I asking. If the ball diameter is a close to the sleeve I.D. then contact is possible. This would be critical with with wear.
