Man dies after striking a brick structure
A 40-year-old man died following a collision Thursday afternoon near Pico and Taylor streets.
San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies responded at 2:07 p.m. to the area for a traffic collision.
Witnesses told deputies a 1970s Chevrolet Corvette traveling west on Pico from Michigan Street failed to negotiate a left turn and went through a cement wall.
The Corvette then struck a brick structure west of Taylor before coming to a stop, according to a sheriff's news release.
Darril Robert Carlson of Grand Terrace was declared dead at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
