A few years back acouple of guys in Poland built an AWD stingray that got turbocharged and used in drag racing. The thing was very fast.

I've found links to it in the corvette forum, and the SY/TY forum and noticed something.... nobody else has done it.

Is this right, was it a one-of-a-kind hot rod? Has anyone else attempted this since? Here's a few links if you haven't seen it.

I want to rebuild a C3 from the frame up anyway, thought this might be a way to stand out a bit in. Something different.

He grafted the front frame rails from a Typhoon onto the C3 frame. Then he had to cut the floor to make room for the transfer case. It's an LT1 (EFI) with a Turbo bigger than you.

I don't like that he went with a solid axle, which he did if I remember correctly. I would have kept the IRS and tried to make it a road racer.

I think it would be more easy to just flare it and go with some massive meats like TTs C3.

I don't think you would have to have the front of a Typhoon to do it, any 4x4 S/T front clip would work as long as you lock out the front axle. The 4x4 axles are stronger anyway.

Road racer would be the way I would go if I did it. Start with the frame job. locked out 4x4 7.25" out front, Dana 36 with posi in the back, BW 4472 transfer case, 4L-65E (gotta have OD), and an Iron 6.0L with some LS6 heads and side pipes.

Just like the idea of an AWD Vette.

Been putting alot of thought into an AWD conversion lately. Looking at purchasing a Vette under $2,500 to do it to, even a C4 would be a good donor to start with considering the fabrication I'm looking at. I own or have access to all the tools I should need, and the space to do it. I'm working out a budget, and already have the "hard to find" BW 4472 transfer case. Planning on mostly using used parts to rebuild, here's what i plan on starting with...

Corvette (C3 or C4) $2,500
4x4 S/T truck (or SUV) $1,000 or less
6.0L LQ4 engine $700
4L-60E transmission $400

With what I want to pay for a vette, I know their will be fiberglass repairs needed. Gonna learn how from my buddies at work. Perk of being in ARMY Aviation.....
