I have heard of this modification. Can anyone tell me everything thats involved with it? Also how do they compare to say a GM car with a factory power assisted box? How well do they say clear factory tubular headers? What mods to the frame have to be done?

What are all the pro's and con's of this swap? How is this box for everyday driving? Anyone run it with a C4 power steering pump? Line modifications?

Last but not least a part number list if you know it.

I came across this site but is welding a pitman arm kind of risky?

A few minutes with a couple of files and those "wide" indexing teeth can be made into narrow teeth like all the others in .
no welding required, lets you move the arm one tooth at a time.

So why did he go the welding route instead of filing? Seems like to me he had to make a straight pitman arm so it was offset to line up with the steering linkage. This kind of box has to be better the the stock steering.

I guess I misunderstood his description.I thought he moved the arm in rotational reference to the splines. :clobbered:
