Can anyone help me out on this: Manual steering drag links are listed as small block and big block, can anyone tell me , what the difference is? Are they interchangeable or do they require different idler arm, pitman arm etc. I remember reading about this many years ago but would appreciate some input on this. Thanks!
Looking to replace on my early 70 LT-1

I have an extra HD manual steering draglink/centerlink/relay rod and the correct pittman arm available if you or anyone else is interested.............

Looking at the GM parts book 69-76 I don't see a diff shown between big and small block.

drag link

This goes back many years, there was a HD drag link for the manual steering Big Block cars, there is reference to this in the Chevy Power manuals in the early 70s,

Relay Rod

Not to argue BUT:
Chevrolet, parts and accessories catalog
effective September, 1973
1953 - 1973 Corvette

6.870 Rod Assy - rod- clamp-Steering connecting (with internal parts)

63-68 Corvette (exc. 396, 427, P/S) 3955521
63-68 Corvette (396 , 427 )(exc. P/S) 3955512
69-74 Corvette (exc.P/S) 3955512
63-74 Corvette W/P/S 3952707

My 68 AIM lists one part (#3952701) for relay rod.

My AIM shows the same thing but it says for the N40 which is PS. I think the number might have changed or be a misprint and its 3952707

Thats what my catalog shows one number 63-74 non-power 3955512.

I looked in my 3rd edition Power book but I don't see a reference to a HD drag link or relay rod.

edit-So maybe the 3955521 is the one ?

I might be, how much? I have a perfectly good relatively new control valve there right now. But I don't intend to put the power steering back in the car, ever.

I thought there were 3/4" & 7/8" round relay rods. I believe the 3/4" relay rods were for early cars.
