While making a run to the city dump a couple weekends ago I came across this gem.

Motor was stuck but I got it running in two days. I rode it to class for a while having to choke the carb off with my hand to get it to run. I got tired of the stock look and decided to change it up a bit.

I raised the motor mounts, which lowered the frame, made it a hardtail, new gas tank and stripped most of it.

Now I have a question regarding run characteristics. Its a 50cc two stroke. I am having trouble keeping it running after start up. I can choke off the carb and keep it running but then it just seems to dump fuel out of the carb into my hand (literally streams fuel out). I have tried to add a filter to the carb and I won't be able to get it to start and run right. I have no other jets available and I have tried to change the needle clip position but it doesn't seem to help.

How do you turn without a foot peg sticking in the ground? As for the carb you should look carefully at the rubber mount that it attatches to. I bet it has dry rot and is leaking air. On alot of my 2 strokes that had the same kind of symptoms as yours it was some kind of air leak or the seals in the carb were rotted. Does it bog when you give it gas but catch its self a bit if you let off the gas?
