When I did the body-off restoration on my '68 Vert in 1980 I replaced all the brake calipers and filled the system with Dot-5 brake fluid...(silicone). I have had to do NO brake repairs..including topping off of the brake fluid in 29 years. Damn. Only draw-back is a little sponginess in the pedal under aggressive braking. Just a passing thought for you all.:beer:

Started using 5 long time ago when a olde tyme racer buddy recommended it, never looked back ONCE.....even after HE quit using it in his race cars....

25? years...

:thumbs::smash:

Mybad79 started a thread here with photos of the inside of calipers with DOT3 and DOT5. fluid, the DOT5 calipers were clean, the DOT3 looked nasty

:rofl::rofl:by time I got this '72, some 15 years ago, I had Dot5 in maybe 3-4 cars over some time....I tore the system down as it had more leaks than the Titanic....

they were SS lined, but the system was TRASH, looked like the Titanic today....

:mad::goodnight:
