I think the 1-wire gets beat up unfairly. Remember that electronics have progressed now and can reliably sense small signals to see the small excitation voltage. I've found that my cs121 turns on within a few seconds of startup every time. It controls voltage as reliably as the old 3 wire SI and holds a more stable voltage at idle.
