Wow, am I glad to see this section!!!!

Wife's Expedition's heated seats went out, first driver, a week or so later the pass side. Prior to that the A/C seat stuff went out too, maybe two months earlier. I have checked fuses, relays, wires, plugs, talked to shops, searched on-line and am stumped. One other thing, there appears to be a vacuum leak possibly in the heating a/c switch or somewhere out there. Related? Do not know. The a/c will blow out of the top vents like it should, but if you accelerate, the damper closes and moves air flow to floor. After resuming normal speed it returns to upper vents. Unlike us Corvette peeps, there is nothing I can find online, no useful forums, nothing. Can't even get a dang wiring/vacuum diagram from an autoparts store.

Any advice would be great. Of course we just paid the dang thing off last month. God help me, I am putting a FORD transmission in my C3 as we speak!

thanks
tt

I really dunno jack about the things, BUT have been under the hood of neighbors trucks of similar types...

I know my wife's Escort has a engine control module under the hood, it's a black box about the size of your hand...contains 50 billion relays to control almost nothing I can see....but when it goes, it takes out odd things....

the Escort box was made by BOSCH, and as with the rest of the import parts on her car, they are the prime source of minor problems....

maybe get a book from the parts house for 15 bux to see if my guess is correct, and first thing is to pull it outta there, pop the rivits open take the can off the frame, and spot the burnt relays/board...loose connections/etc...

not by any means a sure cure...but maybe...

try a Ford group on the net....surely there is a forum about their cars too....

:D

Serious?? not a 9", can't be...what they do, stick a ~8" ring gear diffy in a 6000 lbs truck and wonder why it fails?? better get a 9 for that puppy....

it's like Dodge with that 8" rear in a 3/4 ton van....I"ve blasted 3 of them personally, replace with that 9.25" and then it's good forever....this '94 I tied up with now has a 9.25 in it right from the git go....

Search for the F150 forums. There are 2 out their with some help. Not as good as here, but some help. I have a DVD with up to 2001 if any of that would help. Found it on Ebay for 29.95. It is actual Ford info.

FOr real, 4 rear chunks, what would happen, the rear would develop an incredible whine. Finally they came up with an "anti-whine kit", the shop guy told me the original specs where off and over time it developed serious wear and the "whine". It's good now, just all the other crap is going out.
