Any use these billet caps from Dragvette

I'm running similar ones made by Moroso on my driveshaft. Been using them for quite a few years on the Vette and a Cutlass that I drag race, and have never had any universal joint issues.

Regretfully, their website doesn't give the dimensions like their catelog and packages due. The different sizes are designated by color. I'm using the 85810 red anodized ones on both the front and back end of my driveshaft. I've been thinking about the ones from Dragvette for the half shafts though.

The dragvette ones are for the 1350 series.

The spicer 1310 for the driveshaft has a 1.062 diameter cap according to their small parts catalogue. And the ubolt CL-CL is 1.416 also according to the spicer small parts cat.

So I think the 85800 is the right one or the Jegs 60602.

If anyone needs it, here is the spicer small parts cat from 2002. Didn't find a later version

Just thinking outloud but could you not just get some Big Block U joint blocks and drill out the threads and use a bolt instead for the half shafts? I think they would be cheaper to do so. I know Mike that rebuilds diffs and so on and on up in Dallas said he can not get them at a decent price.

I'm not sure what you mean by BB U joint block.

He means the forged caps that the 1350 joint on the 3" HD shaft used, all big blocks came with those.

Here's a pic, check the caps on the inner u joint:

I initially thought that too...but what threw me was drilling out the threads. Those caps don't have threads. The threads are in the halfshaft yoke. Those caps are made to fit 1.188 diameter 1350's.

Not sure who is making or selling the aftermarket caps but some are junk. Sorry no other way to desribe. The gaps are huge and will crush the caps. Again I have no idea who is making them but just check any non-GM caps very good.
I think Jeremy got some bad aftermarket caps last year.

Sorry that was my mistake lol. I have been working on mine which has the BB set up but it is a 73.

The stock ones on most SB cars use a U bolt. So I feel I was wrong about drilling out the threads as there are none. But since I have nothing in hand to look at you would need to make sure the hole's are the same size and use the correct size of bolt to mate the two together. I was talking about Mike Dyer in Dallas TEXAS. Sorry if last name is spelled wrong it is off the top of my head. :)

Yeah, that was me Gary. I had to let the company know that there product didn't fit - apparently this was the first bad set they sent out to a customer.
