Alternator Wire Question

On the 3 wire alt. there is a brown with white stripe and black with white stripe wire in the 2 pin connector.

I noticed before taking the vette out today that the black/white wire was cracked off the pin. I don't know how long it has been broken. Is this the load sensing wire? It looks like it goes into the horn relay.

If the black wire is not connected, would it cause the battery not to charge properly?

Sorry smokein, I spoke without taking a close look. actually,

If the sense wire (pin 2) is disconnected then the TR2 transistor in the regulator is turned off. That in turn allows TR1 to turn full on......allowing full field current. Therefore full rate charging. see schematic.
