what does it take to balance a driveshaft? I have a D44 complete on standby for installation in April. What would it cost to have the new/used drive shaft balanced?

How about the 1/2 shafts, I can keep my existing ones, right?

Thanks.

Been a while but I had one shortened and balanced for about $100.

.

I think I paid $85.00. Balancing should run $35-40. Bring your tranny yoke. They are balanced as an assembly, and witness marked for proper assembly.
They say the halfshafts are not that important, but for another $80 to balance both, I also know they are not bent. Cheap ins.

12/21/04 I paid $ 45 to balance it and $40 to shorten it and i had to make two trips because in my exceitement i forgot to take the yoke.....

Does bringing the yoke with the shaft at the shop means the U-joint should still be on the shaft too?
