Hood doesn't fit (pic)

What am I doing wrong here? The top of the hinge is flush with the fenderline; the mounting flange on the hood is about an inch below the fenderline. This is how my AIM shows to install it. And no, I don't want the ram-air effect, only a proper fitting hood.

Take those hinge pieces apart and swap the upper parts between both sides so the tab is bent down and then bolt the hood up You made it all spiffy but assembled them incorrectly

EDIT, here's a pic, shows it better than I can describe. If you have them like you have it now, the hood will sit 2" to high
