a while back before the NCRS Nazis closed their website to NON members there was someone on there who had contact with a officer in Iraq who was collecting car magazines and distributing them to the soldiers. I have a years worth of unread Automobile magazines I would like to ship to him. can anyone get me that address off the NCRS site?? thanks in advance

I don't have the info, just like to say thank you for thinking of such a nice donation, those troops will be thrilled. I'm an old vet and know anything from home is very up lifting this time of year, or any time.

I'm currently in Baghdad and checked with the Military Postmaster who related the best way to send "care packages" to the troops is to address them to the Chaplain's Office. The Chaplain can then distribute the packages to the various units. The address would be written as follows:

Chaplain's Office
APO AE (ZIP)

Here are the zip codes for some of the main bases in Iraq;

09348 09316 09391 09331 09344

We have been sending stuff directly to the troops for a couple of years.
Probably spent over 700 bucks in postage.
They need our help no matter how anyone feels about the politics of being there.

It really hits home when the first letter we got from a female MP in Afganistan simply asked for foot powder and wide feminine napkins. Pretty basic stuff.

We signed up to adopt a soldier at this website. We ended up with a platoon and get regular emails from them.

It is completely legit and their database can set you up directly with a soldier with your interests and there is no costs or bullshit involved.

You're a good person. :trumpet:

AGAIN, you simply amaze me Noonie.

Depite how fucked up everything over here has gotten lately,

A soldier's duty is to serve.
Our duty is to support them.

My 9 year old daughter goes to a private Christian school and they meet in Chapel first thing every morning and last Friday morning I sat in for that.

After the announcments etc., everyone stands up says the Lord's Prayer out loud and then everyone puts their right hand on their heart, faces the flag and declares the Pledge of Allegiance.

How rare is that these days. :amazed:

Sometimes that can bring tears to your eyes.
It was what this country was built on.
