My pertronix gets it's power from the Bat terminal on the HEI cap. The power wire going into the cap is 12g and full 12volts. The power wire into the rev limiter is smaller...maybe 14-16g.
I connected the rev limiter wire into the power wire to the HEI cap since the adaptor wire for the limiter is 14-16 guage and I didn't want to have the 12g wire going to a smaller wire and then into the cap.
Just wondering if this creates a problem...I'm guessing that the smaller wire is made for full 12v and it is not a problem. The unit operates but erratically. I sent it back since the tech center at Pertronix told me the board was defective. Just want to make sure that my wiring is not a problem before I hook up the replacement unit.
The adaptor wire on the left is the one that came with the unit. The wire on the right is how I "fixed" it.
On the adaptor(left), my green wire would go into the black wire and the black wire into the the cap.
