The 65 needs new wiring harnesses and fuse panel. I want to upgrade to a more modern fuse panel with blade type fuses. Anyone done this? Any recommendations on manufacturers? How many circuits?

Thanks

EZ wire, Painless ($$$$)

How many ckts? What do you have in there? (power accys)

Thanks
Normal lights, MSD dist and box, KE radio, currently running 100 amp Powermaster alt. I will be adding electric fans, seat heaters stereo amp.

I was looking at EZ wire, good price and American Autowire add only the wiring you need. Any experiance with them?

EZ wire, Painless, Keep it clean are all about the same. Call and haggle on price.

Why doesn't someone make a conversion for glass fuse boxes. You could snap a modern blade style fuse holder in place of the glass fuse.

.

I like the glass fuses. You can look at them and tell if they are good. No hunting for a test light.

You can get illuminating blade fuses!!! Even better, circuit breakers. I may end up doing that with my car.

Auto reset breakers are good for things that may overload, such as headlights and power seats. Fuses provide better "short circuit" protection.
I can count the blown fuses in 35 years of owning cars on 1 hand.

Bird can we use American Auto wire to completely redo the wiring on our glass bodies?

429 bucks thats before haggling I guess.
That's the one I was looking at. They make a ground wire kit as well. The whole deal is still much cheaper than complete car resto harnesses and that's not an upgrade.

Yes. It looks like the Painless kit. I used the same kit in a 57 Chevy, but I had a metal frame. I would contact these places directly, and see if there are any Vette specific kits.

Nah they dont make any for Vettes.
Talked to the guy at AAW (Donny) in another forum (Chevvytalk) and he seems pretty negative about it.

Said there was a lot of cutting and splicing and grounding to do....Ok, so what? Is it feasable? Cant be harder that rewiring a new glass body for a 32 or 34 Ford. A couples of years ago a few friends of mine did those and they've been running pretty since. I think they used Painless kits.

Restring the whole car with new connectors, relays and stuff.
I would move the fuse box out from under the clutch ect.

They do make those, I found some online but can't find any in stores here.
