04 RFT Replacement Recomendations

I just bought a 04 to keep my 82 company. The run flat Goodyears are so bad that I can't drive the car without plenty of beer, and pain pills. The local cops do not like this combination of pain relief. I need suggestions on what tires I can put on the car without hurting the neck and wallet so much. If I can't get it to ride better, it will have to find a new home. I can't stand this much pain.

Really, are the run flats required? How about just a set of plain old Goodyears or something like that?
