Finished plumbing my hydroboost yesterday and when I pulled the HP hose off, out came nice, pink transmission fluid. Certainly not uncommon, but annoying anyways.

My question: Is is worth going through the trouble of draining it all out or just top it off with power steering fluid and wait for one of my joints to leak?

As you seem to know Mike, the ATF softens and swells the seals, and is a stop gap measure like the "no leak" additives. The GM power steering fluid is best for the system according to Mr Shea, but I have had good luck with the off brands.
I think I would change it out and hope for the best. My 2 cents.

My Vette's manuals specifically advise against using ATF in the PS system. I've done it before, but wouldn't again.
