I've been a member of the Corvetteforum since 2006, however some of my closest corvette friends have started drifting to this forum, and I thought I'd follow them here. My name is William Stevens, and I was born here in San Diego in 1980. My Father and Grandfather are/were Navy Pilots in WW2/Vietnam, and I grew up around the military, and Corvettes in general. My old man's owned 15 different corvettes of every generation(except for the new C6 style), and he is my greatest idol. One of my many goals in life, is to someday be half the man that he has been. A tall order I'm not sure I'll ever succeed at. :clobbered:

My first Corvette, was a 2001 C5 coupe that I picked up in an insurance auction in March of 2006. It had 21k on the clock, and was in new condition. I had been dealing with Japanese imports for the most part, and this was my first V8 car. The main reason I had gone towards the imports, was because of the lack of(i.e. non-existent) lightweight, RWD cars offered by America. By the time I had bought my first C5, I had already owned a 1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S(setup for drifting), a 1990 Nissan 240sx hatchback, 1990 Nissan 240sx Coupe(with turbo engine swap), and a 1995 Nissan 240sx coupe. The heaviest of these cars, weighed 2750 lbs, and they had very neutral balance and handling.

I didn't get rid of the import scene however, as I still have the turbo Nissan, and a 1993 Mazda RX-7 right now(the Nissan is at a friend's shop with a for sale sign, and the Mazda will be getting an LSX motor swap in the near future when funds permit). I have though, replaced the 2001 Corvette, with a 2000 6spd that is also enhanced with a Procharger. Needless to say, I will NOT be without a Corvette, ever again. :goodevil:
